1 sponge:

2 Memory foam:

Memory foam was developed in 1966 under a contract by NASA's Ames Research Center to improve the safety of aircraft cushions.
Memory foam consists mainly of polyurethane as well as additional chemicals increasing its viscosity and density. It is often referred to as "viscoelastic" polyurethane foam, or low-resilience polyurethane foam (LRPu). Higher-density memory foam softens in reaction to body heat, allowing it to mold to a warm body in a few minutes. Newer foams may recover more quickly to their original shape.

its better than sponge, but its expensive.

Abandoned Materials Market Critique

In the Abandoned Materials market showed a theme of abandoned childhood that across three levels which transported the customers back to a nostalgic feel of the 90’s and early 2000’s. The theme was an interesting take of the abandon materials but I felt that more thought had gone into the nostalgic memories than the abandon materials overall theme. Within the market itself there was recycled and reused materials retrieved from other markets to fill spaces which was a smart idea reusing materials as they “look at the everyday environment that surrounds us and see it as an artistic and cultural resource.” (The art in waste. Denise Scott Brown. Urban Distortions book. Basurama06).  Most stalls fitted one of four themes, hand/eye coordination games, polls/surveys, creative drawing/writing tasks and visual experience which meant that it was repetition of ideas through the stalls. Maybe this could have been avoided with better communication on the differences between the concepts of the ...
