Research on gravity reproduction

Research on gravity reproduction Research on gravity “Reproduction”   ( create a gravity feeling on floor) 1 sponge: 2 Memory foam: Memory foam was developed in 1966 under a contract by NASA's Ames Research Center to improve the safety of aircraft cushions.   Memory foam consists mainly of polyurethane as well as additional chemicals increasing its viscosity and density . It is often referred to as " viscoelastic " polyurethane foam, or low-resilience polyurethane foam ( LRPu ). Higher-density memory foam softens in reaction to body heat, allowing it to mold to a warm body in a few minutes. Newer foams may recover more quickly to their original shape.   its better than sponge, but its expensive. 3, The thing we use in the Gym, looks like this :   And then people can stand on top with the VR on   … don’t think its gonna work… 4. make a box, people can put their head in pict...

Week 8

Today was the last class day til the market day. Comms group had collated the feedback from the prototype market and although the feedback was good mostly. There did seem to be an emphasis on creating more of an experience for people at your stall. We do have a secondary experience in our stall so not sure if that applies to us but it would be hard with a group of 4 to extend the experience further. Dani, Gabby and I (Monica was sick today) went through how we want the layout of the stall + jobs for the day... and for setup. We created a list of further things that we need and what we already have. Overall we are feeling on target and not super stressed about the day. Talk to us in a week though. layout (rough) List of things to do -Mary Signage for Stall -Danielle

Prototype Market day (Week 7)

Arriving at the market Dani discovered the material had fallen and crushed the moon. we managed to fix it enough for the day but it was the start of a list of things we need to work on for the actual market day. We had feedback from lots of people going through the market but the facilitation teams were little confused as to whether they wrote on our sheet or on their sheets... so will see what the general feedback is next week. We did however get little feedback Duncan and some people going through on our sheet: List of things to work on: Paper mache moon - Gabby Lighter material -Gabby Material for white boards - Gabby TV box - mary Thermal printer - link phone - Mary Black duct tape - Danielle  Safety video - voice over  Securing material  Painting black backboard Glow and the dark paint for stars Sign for entrance & Exit sign - Danielle Overall I think the day went quite well. The feedback seemed positive and some of the t...

Prototype Market prep (Week 7)

Our first week back we held a prototype market where we were expected to have our stall running pretty much how we wanted it to run on the run (minus some things still to do). But it was a good chance to see how the stall will run on the day and iron out the kinks. We managed to do nearly all of our prep on Tuesday night and already found things that needed remedy (the moon was way too thin and fragile!). Here are some of the pics from the prep: stars prep -ALL Waiting area Troubleshooting our moon The booth with advertising We have ordered our uniforms for the day and construction of the stall is underway. We have shifted the era to more 1950s space style. we have  quick  run sheet of the safety video for our stall we have to wait for the uniforms to arrive to film the safety video.

Research & Meetups Over break

We discussed what was needed for our prototype and created this list of things we wanted to be done. Jobs list: Prototyping The booth My job was to research the photo booth/look into materials we could use and how we could make the picture look. I looked into some old-fashioned type adverts that have modern technology within it. Sort of an impossible photo "what if technology was around back then"                                         I made a small prototype of the booth with an old photo from the paper moon booth.                                   Quick sketch and collage of some ideas for how to make the booth look and a suggested making of the moon with the stall. The "mr Nokia" advert is funny and kinda what we might be going for with the occulus...
